velle is a Latin Verb that primarily means to wish.

Verb
(w. neut. pron., etc.) To want, wish for (something). (b) quid uis? (in inquiring after a person's errand, etc.) what do you want? what is it? (c) si quid uis (parenth.), if you like.
To desire to have, want (a particular thing or person).
To want to speak with, require the presence, attention, etc., of (a person); (w. internal acc.) to want (a person for something). (b) num-quid me uis? (as a formula used in leavetaking) is there anything you want of me?
(w. inf.) To wish, have a desire (to). (b) (in past tenses, implying non-occurence of the act wished); uolui, etc., dicere, I, etc., meant to say.
(in other uses w. inf.): (a) to be willing, prepared (to). (b) to be disposed, care (to). (c) to take voluntary action (to). (d) to be about (to), be on the point (of).
