To hold as an opinion, think, believe, suppose. (a) (w. acc. and inf.). (b) (w. acc. and pred. adj. or sb.). (c) (w. neut. pron. or sim.; also w. sic, ut). (d) (ellipt. or absol.). (e) ~or or ut (quantum) ~or (used parenth. or introducing a statement), if I am not mistaken, I think, I suppose. (f) (in answers) ~or (id ~or), I think so; non ~or, I do not think so.
To have in mind, imagine, conceive; esp. (b) to entertain the notion of (a future event or situation), look for, expect; nec or neque ~ans, unsuspecting; nec ~atus, unforeseen (see NECOPINANS, NECOPINATVS). (c) ~or ut ~or (used parenth. in announcing one's intentions).
